Statement: Ambassador Zomlot calls on UK MPs to vote for an end to the genocide in Gaza

Ahead of the UK Parliament’s vote on a ceasefire in Gaza on 21 February 2024, the head of the Palestinian Mission to the UK, Dr. Husam Zomlot, said:

“We welcome the mounting support in the UK parliament for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza.

“We acknowledge that parliamentarians from all parties are warning against any Israeli ground invasion in Rafah. We acknowledge the SNP calling for an end to the collective punishment of the Palestinian people and the Labour Party calling on Israel to comply with the ICJ’s provisional measures to stop the genocide.

“With 100,000 Palestinians killed, maimed, or buried under rubble, tomorrow’s #ote is a moral, legal and political test of Westminster’s commitment to international law and universal values. It is a personal test of integrity for every individual MP.

“We urge all U.K. MPs to vote for an immediate and permanent #ceasefire to stop the genocide in Gaza.”
