Today, two Arab Gulf countries will sign normalisation agreements with Israel.
We consider these accords a retrograde step for the Palestinian cause because they subvert the peace-for-land formula of the 2002 Saudi-sponsored Arab Peace Initiative, which remains the most promising diplomatic initiative on the table.
We believe the reason these accords are being signed now is because of upcoming US presidential elections and has nothing to do with regional peace, progress or prosperity.
This is just another Trump media stunt to cover for his failure to bully the Palestinian people & leadership into submission.
Peace agreements are signed between parties at conflict. There is no conflict between Israel and Bahrain or the United Arab Emirates.
The issue remains Palestine. The issue remains a world unwilling to implement international law as it clearly applies to Palestine.
A solution is readily available. Two sovereign, independent states, alongside each other. A Palestine on 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. A just and comprehensive resolution to the Palestinian refugee issue.
We are ready for any serious steps toward that solution.
We reject steps that take us away from that solution.
