Power of Attorney

  • Private Power of Attorney :

    A Private Power of Attorney is one that is limited to a specified act or type of act, and therefore the legal text must be provided by the applicant for certification as per the following the steps below.

  • General Power of Attorney:

    A general power of attorney (GPA) is ideally suited for situations where you need to give certain rights to another person(s) to deal with your property for a limited time, such as when you are going away on holiday or moving out of the country for a few years. A GPA is also known as an ordinary power of attorney.

1. Required documents

You are required to submit the following documents in support of your application.

  • Original identification documents (ID card, passport).

  • The full name of a nominee for power of attorney.

  • Nominee ID card information.

2. Fees and payment

  • The Consular Section only accepts cash payment for all Consular Services. Payments by credit or debit card are not accepted.

3. Submission

All applications must be made in person at the Mission. 

You may submit the application at any time during the Consular Section’s working hours. See here for further information.

You will require an appointment to submit the application.

  • Please make sure that you bring all the required documents

Please note that…

  • The processing fee is non-refundable.
  • Paperwork submitted in a manner different from the above will not be accepted.
  • Processing only starts after we have collected all necessary documents (originals with two copies) and payments.
