Ambassador from Palestine to the UK, Manuel Hassassian

Ambassador Hassassian was born in Jerusalem in 1953. He has three children.

  • 1975 BA in Political Science from the American University of Beirut
  • 1976 MA in International Relations from Toledo University, Ohio
  • 1986 PhD in Comparative Politics from University of Cincinnati, Ohio
  • 1981 – 1991 Professor of Political Science at Bethlehem University

  • 1991 – 1996 Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Chair of the Humanities Department
  • 1996 – 2005 Executive Vice President of Bethlehem University
  • 1999 – 2004 Served as the President of the Rectors’ Conference of the Palestinian Ministry of Higher Education and President of the Palestinian-European-American Cooperation in Education (PEACE) program
  • 1996 -2005 Executive Vice President and President of the Council of Higher Education
